The Toxic Threads project is an exploration into hyper masculinity. The images explore the lives of toxic men such as the men who worship Andrew Tate. I chose to question how their philosophies are reflected in their living environment.
Throughout the project I focus on the theme of ‘identity’. In recent years Andrew Tate amongst others have became idolised through their comments and videos. Some young men have been heavily influenced by his message of toxic masculinity and incorporated it into their own identity. What are their lives like behind closed doors? My photographs explore this theme in one of the young men's home in order to understand his more intimate and personal sides.
